Bus Driver (McKinney-Vento)
The Transportation Services at Puget Sound ESD (PSESD) seeks School Bus Drivers to provide transportation services for K-12 students participating in the McKinney-Vento program throughout King and Pierce Counties.
PSESD is one of nine regional educational agencies serving school districts, charter schools and state-approved private schools in Washington. Educational Service Districts, created by the legislature, are an essential regional delivery system for early learning and K-12 services in the state. PSESD’s Early Learning Transportation Services provide pupil transportation for 700 Head Start and ECEAP children in King and Pierce Counties The transportation program runs a fleet of 24 buses and employs 26 regular and substitute school bus drivers. We operate under the guidance of the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) Pupil Transportation Services, as well as the mandates included in the Head Start and ECEAP Program Standards which govern program operation including the provision of transportation services.
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree Equivalent
- Valid Washington State Driver's License
- OSPI Type 1 School Bus Driver Authorization with Passenger Endorsement
- Experience transporting children
- Experience working with culturally diverse children and families experiencing homelessness or domestic violence
- Volunteer experience
Transportation Services is based in Pacific, Washington, conveniently off Highway 167. McKinney-Vento routes are on a school-schedule: ~6 hours per day, ~181 days per school year (approximate total of 1,087 hours per school year). Competitive salary at minimum of $21.90 per hour. Salary offers consider candidate experience, qualifications and internal equity.
